  1. I will probably sit with Keith Ward, a far different companion than I had last year but I am going both days. Keith plans on reading in the open and I may as well.

I am not a T wallace fan so I doubt I will make him. Then finally sent out a detail press release and I have that as well which will make selecting which to attend easier.

  2. I commented to Marty that I’m a lot less excited about this year’s lineup than last, largely because I know fewer of the names. Interestingly, I’m guessing that’s because they’ve got “bigger” names this year — people who are recognized on a larger scale, but aren’t so recognized that peons like me know who they are. I’ll be interested to hear about the sessions I don’t attend.

  3. hey i heard alan ginsberg and charles bukowski are having a beatboxing contest at this shindig

  4. The world would be so much more interesting if you were in charge, Ross. I’m not sure I’d like it more, but it would be more interesting. 🙂

  5. Ross, That was funny. But boxing? Come on ghost of Buk would crush Ghost of Ginsberg. Some also would argue if Bukowski was a beat poet. Any other matches?

  6. well, less of a match but in baltimore i heard they’re getting together the british romantic poets (blake being my fave) for singing navy songs

  7. also i don’t think i’d like it more if i was in charge, if i were in charge the first thing i’d do as Grand Leader of the Universe would be to put somebody else in charge 🙂

  8. I use to work with this guy who all the time would say “If I was in charge I would fire everybody then quit.”

  9. sounds like bill hicks’ outlook:

You know what I hate about working? Bosses. That’s what I fucking hate…

‘Hicks, how come you’re not working.’

I’d go, ‘There’s nothing to do.’

‘Well, you pretend like you’re working.’

‘Well, why don’t you pretend I’m working? Yeah, you get paid more than me, you fantasize. Pretend I’m mopping. Knock yourself out. I’ll pretend they’re buying stuff; we can close up. I’m the boss now, you’re fired. How’s that?’

I don’t know if I have the right attitude for the workplace.”
