I hate Joe Biden

I hate Joe Biden.

I really don’t know anything about his politics, and I’ve never followed anything he’s done closely.

All I really know about him I learned from the John Roberts confirmation hearings, which I watched nearly all of. I remember nearly none of it, except that over the course of the blah blah blah and the blah blah blah I finally reached a point where I posed a danger to my TV every time Joe Biden’s face appeared on it. He was less blah blah blah and more BLAH BLAH BLAH. Like all the hot air he used to dry his hair had seeped into his skull and finally replaced his brain entirely.

I’m open to having my mind changed.

  1. Yeah, Biden talks a lot — Brit Hume once called him a “windbag” — and he has had a tendency to get himself in trouble with some of his verbiage.

I wouldn’t hate him, though. He has the courage to enter the lion’s den, aka “Fox News Sunday,” on a regular basis, and when it comes to foreign policy, few have a better grasp of the issues than Biden.

I would have preferred that Obama make a bolder choice, like Chuck Hagel (I swear, my dream of a Democrat-Republican ticket will be realized someday), and appointed Biden as secretary of state or defense. But I can live with Biden as VP, and he will shore up Obama on foreign policy and possibly help him make inroads with white, middle-class, Catholic voters.

    Have I sold you?
